72 hours to tell council: No to Page High demolition

There is just over 72 hours left to respond to Haringey council’s Wood Green Area Action Plan (AAP) consultation, which closes this Friday March 16, 5pm.

Please respond by e-mail—and tell the council that Page High estate should be preserved!

Page High tenants would hugely appreciate your support. You don't have to write much. Just two or three sentences would be fine.

The tenants’ association, having got 79% support for our "No to demolition" petition, is strongly opposing the destruction of Page High set out by the AAP.

Demolition? No thanks!

Threatened: Page High, 92-home social housing, N22 6JQ

We are submitting a detailed response to the AAP, in which we cover:

  • Tenants’ overwhelming opposition to demolition

  • The flawed nature of the council’s consultation

  • Page High as a model for social housing

  • Required improvement and/or re-purposing of Burry Road car park

  • Problems with the Estates Renewal Policy

We conclude by stating that:

  • We’re in favour of regeneration, but not demolition

  • Social rent housing must be key to regeneration

  • We look forward to on-going dialogue with council officers

If you wish, you can read our response to the AAP in full.

Please tap out a quick message in support of Page High before Friday 16, 5pm.

Without written evidence of views opposing the AAP, the council can easily ignore us.

Remember: it's no use just being against demolition; you have to tell the council in writing!
