Links: Friendly Organisations, People, Social Housing
Probably the best way of finding people, organisations and businesses associated with Page High Tenants' Association is to follow our Tiwtter account.

We have built, and are building more links with, tenants' groups and others working to defend social housing. Because we're in Haringey, and the council has been engaged in a massive plan to transfer ownership and control of publicly owned housing into private hands, we strongly recommend that you check out the campaign against the Haringey Development Vehicle (HDV). Take a look, too, at the Defend Council Housing Haringey page.

Page High isn't in the HDV; it's in the Wood Green Area Action Plan. Not that our estate is even mentioned by name in there. In the council's so-called 'consultation document'--really an obfuscation document--there is reference only to an unspecified number of 'residential units' on top of Bury Road carpark. No mention, then, that 92 flats of historic social housing are up for demolition. Nice, eh?
Residents of Caxton Road and Mayes Road in Wood Green found themselves in a similar situation. Their website has been instrumental in persuading the council to withdraw demolition plans.

If you live in Haringey and are worried about the council's plans, you can check to see if your home is to be affected.

If you're in Noel Park ward, get involved in the Noel Park Big local, which has £1m funds to allocate for community development in the area.

We have friendly relations with many local groups, such as the Wood Green Social Enterprise Forum, and the Seven Sisters' based Save Latin Village.

Residents of nearby Bruce Grove have their own residents' group.

GreenN8 is a community group based in North London N8. Crouch End, Hornsey, Stroud Green and Haringey.

Haringey Law Centre is a charity providing free and independent legal advice & representation to people living & working in the London Borough of Haringey.

Trade Unionists for Housing is a group that campaigns for social housing and affordable, stable tenancies.

Demolition Watch London fights for residents' rights and a democratic approach to housing.

If you are from a residents' group or a campaign promoting social housing, get in touch--we want to work with you!
