Oppose Wood Green Area Action Plan (Consultation till March 16, 2018)

The new round of consultation on the Wood Green Area Action Plan (AAP) is underway and continues until March 16, 5pm. The plan includes the demolition of two social housing estates, Page High and Sky City.

There is an AAP consultation page, and you can click on the plan itself.

Page High Tenants’ Association strongly opposes the demolition of our 92-home social housing estate on top of Bury Road car park, N22 6JQ.

Our small-scale, low-rise architecturally innovative, prize-winning estate has been model social housing throughout most of its 43 year life.

The estate just needs proper care from its landlord, Sanctuary Housing, not demolition by Haringey Council.

Please respond to the council's plan by e-mail.

Or by post:

We strongly urge you to respond in writing to the AAP. It's not enough simply to be suspicious of social cleansing or to support social housing. We must let the council know our views.

Residents of Caxton Road and Mayes Road strongly opposed the demolition of their homes by the last version of the AAP. Page High--and, we hope, Sky City--can be saved too. But as many people as possible must to write to the council.

Of course, writing is not the only means of opposing the plan. We are active on Twitter, we are building links with other residents' groups, and we attend demonstrations.

But written responses in favour of Page High and against demolition greatly strengthen our struggle. Just two or three sentences--more if you like--will help our case.

If you’d like more information or to discuss in further detail why Page High Tenants’ Association opposes the AAP, please e-mail us.
